Every Bird Deserves a Worm

Our first project funded by supporters like you allows us to help keep our supply of worms plentiful! Thanks to these contributions, we can keep our worm bowl full for an entire year—even during the busy nesting season and frigid winter months.

Mealworms are the most popular food source for many of the birds that call Wing Haven home, and our worm bowl offers children and adults the opportunity to get close to our birds. During the summer months our Finches, Cardinals, Wrens, Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Titmice, and Catbirds eat over 5,000 worms each week! (Did you know that over 90% of our songbirds feed insects or worms to their young?)
